The worst night for us was Friday night, December 6th.  We had no heat, and the temperature fell into the 20s.  The house became icy cold.  Mary Lynn and I had to sleep in our clothes under several layers of blankets.  This picture shows Mary Lynn soon after she got up on Saturday morning.

Our biggest problem resulted from having a large Magnolia tree in the back yard.  An evergreen with large leaves, Magnolias are not designed to carry ice.  Large and small limbs littered the driveway.

One large limb fell on the deck.  As you can see, it produced monumental mess.

We sustained some damage to our gutter when this limb fell.  Part of the limb also barely missed the window.  Notice the old man with the young girl that sits on a table outside the house.  They were undamaged.
