Other 10. Architectural Style The cross-gabled house sits on a wide, flat lot close to Johnston Drive facing west. It is three-bays wide and two-bays deep. The shed-roofed, partial-width porch is supported by metal replacement posts and shelters a Craftsman-Style door and a six-over-six window. A single-bay, gabled wing projects from the facade and features two six-over-six replacement windows. The house is covered with vinyl and sits on brick piers, which have been infilled with block.

13. Paragraph Briefly Summarizing Known History Of The Property. The first school in Pineville was located at the present home on 401 Johnston Drive. The Pineville Academy, originally a boy’s school and a place of worship, was built in 1867. Other private schools between 1867 and 1914 existed on Main Street, College Street, and Polk Street.
