10. Architectural Style
The simple folk,
front-gabled house with modest Craftsman details is three-bays wide and
three-bays deep. It sits close to Hill Street facing north. A
single-bay, gabled wing aligned with the facade projects from the east
elevation. The partial-width porch is supported by wood posts and shelters a
six-panel door and two replacement windows. Original features include
rectangular wooden vents and six-over-six windows.
The house is covered in wood and sits on brick piers, which have been infilled with
block.

Summarizing Known History Of The Property.
In the 1940s, the
expansion of Cone Mills resulted in the growth of the initial mill village.
Modest, two-room, shotgun homes were built on what was once called "Rabbit
Hill." These homes were built for the new workers and their families
who moved to Pineville. Many of the homes that were on the hill have
been demolished.
