10. Architectural Style
The one-and-a-half story side-gabled house is close to College Street facing
north. It is three-bays wide and two-bays deep. The house's roof
extends over the porch and is supported by floor to ceiling column posts.
It shelters two original four-over-four windows and a six-panel door
surrounded by sidelights. The east elevation of the house features a
shallow, extended, one-story shed-roofed bay containing a six-over-six
window. Additional features include three original six-over-six
windows on the west elevation and an internal chimney on the ridge line of
the roof. The house is covered in vinyl and sits on brick piers, which
have been infilled with block.

Summarizing Known History Of The Property.
The
one-and-a-half story home on College Street served as the home of a
middle-class family. Larger, more elaborate homes were built on the
prestigious streets in Pineville which included College, Polk, Main, and Gay
(Johnston Drive).
