10. Architectural Style
The one-and-a-half story, cross-gabled, house sits on a large, flat lot
close to College Street facing north. It is three-bays wide and
two-bays wide. The full-width, shed-roofed porch with a gabled dormer
is supported by tapered half posts which rest on tall brick piers. The
porch roof shelters two two-over two windows and a Craftsman-style door.
A side-gabled carport projects from the west elevation. The roof is
supported by wood columns supported on brick piers and tall brick piers. A
one-room wing aligned with the west elevation extends from the rear
elevation. Additional features include an internal chimney located on the
top ridge of the roof, replacement windows and original rectangular wooden
vents. The house is covered in asbestos and sits on brick piers, which
have been infilled with block.

Pineville which included College, Polk, Main, and Gay (Johnston
