1. The victory of the Allies in the Pacific Theater
of World War Two was due to a significant degree to scientific and
technological innovation, including the development, testing, and deployment
of atomic bombs. There were also breakthroughs in communication,
medicine, and specialized landing craft, to mention just a few.
Demonstrate the truth of this assertion by citing specific examples. Include

2. The argument can be advanced that Japan's
political and military leaders were ultimately responsible for the
devastating destruction which their country suffered at the conclusion of
World War Two. As for the Allies, they deserve no blame for the
strategies and tactics which they employed, including carpet bombing and the
use of atomic weapons. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
